Pahalgam is one of the most popular
tourist place in Kashmir, in the Anantanag district in India. The
valley stands on the bank of the Lidder River at an altitude of around 2200 m,
about 5 km away from the Baisaran Valley of Kashmir. The tourist place is in the northeast of district Anantnag, among high-flown
hills covered with evergreen forest in Kashmir. Its cool, invigorating, and
pleasant climate; scenic beauty; evergreen forest; and the melodious flow of the
Lidder River attract tourists from India and also abroad.

Terror Attracts Tourist in Pahalgam on 22 April 2025
One of
the most targeted attacks was on Hindu tourists, a terror attacks in Pahalgam,
on 22-04-2025. A total number of 26 tourists died, including 1 foreigner (i.e.,
from Nepal), and many others were injured in Kashmir. The Resistance Front
claimed responsibility for the terror attack. On Tuesday, between 2:45 pm and 3
pm, a large number of tourists gathered at the spot. Suddenly, a group of 6
terrorists attacked the tourists; they first found out they were Hindu tourists,
and then they attacked the innocent male tourists and opened fire. Eyewitnesses
at the spot said the terrorist was wearing a military uniform. One of the most
pathetic scenes went viral on social media on 22 April 2025 and is the heart-touching
viral image after terror attacks in Pahalgam.

In the Pahalgam terror attack, a navy
officer named LT. Vinay Narwal was killed by terrorists on that day, and it was
mentioned that only 7 days before, Vinay Narwal had been newly married to
Himanshi Narwal. Another tourist died in that attack; a businessman named
Dinesh Mirania lives at Roypur in Chattishgarh. A total of 26 tourists died on
the Pahalgam tourist spot that day;
25 tourists belonged to the Hindu community, and one was from the Muslim
community named Syed Adil Hussain Shah, who lives in a nearby area in Kashmir.

Pahalgam, Popular Tourist Place in Baisaran Valley in Kashmir ?
Pahalgam is a popular tourist
spot in the Baisaran Valley, located at about 96 km from Srinagar
town. The place is the most popular hill spot, surrounded by dense pine forest
on all sides, and the Lidder River flows by. The Baisaran is also known as the “Valley of Shepherds” and is home to the
famous Hindu shrine, the Amarnath cave temple. The Baisaran Valley
tourist spot is known as “mini
Switzerland.” Here, long green pine forests attract most of the visitors,
located only 5 km from Pahalgam. In summer, the green meadows, lush landscape, natural
scenic scenery, and long and dense pine forest covered on all sides are the

How to reach Pahalgam in Kashmir?
Travel by Air:
If you want to reach Pahalgam or Baisaran in Kashmir. Srinagar International
Airport is the nearest airport to reach Pahalgam, which is located 96 km from
Srinagar Airport. From the airport you can hire a taxi or cab to visit the
place. The journey takes around 3 hours.
Travel by Train: If you want to travel by train, Udhampur railway station is the nearest railway station and is around 217 km away from the Pahalgam tourist spot. Another nearby railway station is Jammu Tawi station, which is near about 285 km from the spot; you can get a taxi or private car to reach the destination.
Travel by Bus: Srinagar and Jammu are linked with other states of India by road. Srinagar is connected with Pahalgam by state road; buses like deluxe buses and AC and non-AC bus services are available to reach the destinations. There are regular buses available from Srinagar, Jammu, and Anantanag to Pahalgam or Baisaran Valley.
Conclusion: Pahalgam, or Baisaran Valley,
is the best tourist place in Kashmir in India. You can visit both places,
